WE ARE
GROW/WILD is a nonprofit initiative by ShareWell that helps communities learn from nature, care for the land, and transform schoolyards, plazas, and outdoor spaces into thriving places for people and nature.
Developed by ShareWell, GROW/WILD partners with schools, organizations, and community groups to create gardens, farms, habitats, and outdoor learning environments that strengthen connections between people, place, and community. Through regenerative farming, place-based learning, stewardship, and community-centered design, we help cultivate healthier ecosystems, stronger relationships, and more resilient futures.
Our
Mission
GROW/WILD transforms overlooked outdoor spaces into working farms, gardens and outdoor classrooms where people of all ages learn to grow food, restore ecosystems, and take care of the land they live on.
Through regenerative farming and hands-on education, we build the skills and community connections that help Los Angeles neighborhoods thrive.
Why
Grow/Wild?
We chose the name GROW/WILD because it reflects the balance at the heart of our programs.
To grow is to learn, cultivate, care, and adapt to changes. To be wild is to remain curious, imaginative, and open to possibilities.
Whether restoring habitats, growing food, or creating spaces where communities can come together, we believe the most meaningful growth happens when stewardship and wonder exist side by side.
Grow with purpose. Wild with possibility.

OUR
APPROACH
1
Regenerative Farming
We care for the land in ways that make it healthier over time. Through food growing, soil restoration, water conservation, and habitat creation, we transform outdoor spaces into thriving places that support people, wildlife, and the environment.
We practice:
— Growing Nutritious Food
— Building Healthy Soil
— Conserving Water
— Creating Wildlife Habitats
— Supporting Biodiversity
— Restoring Natural Systems
By working with nature rather than against it, we help create greener, more resilient communities while teaching practical skills that people can use in their own neighborhoods, schools, and gardens.
2
Nature Based Learning
We believe people learn best by getting their hands dirty, asking questions, solving real problems,
and exploring the world around them.
We foster:
— Hands-On Learning
— Curiosity and Problem Solving
— Leadership and Teamwork
— Environmental Stewardship
— Cultural Understanding
— Community Connection
Through shared experiences in gardens, farms, and outdoor spaces, participants build practical skills, deepen their connection to the environment, and discover how their actions can make a positive impact.
3
Thriving Communities
We believe outdoor spaces bring people together and reconnect communities with nature. By transforming underused spaces, we help create more vibrant and resilient communities, bringing to life:
— Community Stewardship
— Civic Participation
— Outdoor Living Rooms
— Cultural Exchange & Belonging
Through shared experiences and collective care for the land, we help build healthier, more connected communities that thrive for generations.
